Birthday gifts
One of the best birthday gifts I ever received is arrived unexpected by mail.
My Dutch friend Jolette is a teacher and she asked her pupils to remake one of my illustrations using their own pets or their favourite pets. They all did such a really good job!

Today Pepe asked me to make a nice portrait of him, as someone has already noticed we like art (all the books behind Pepe and the muffins are art books), so here’s my tribute to him and to Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen who made the original advertisement poster in 1896…we love the bohemian parisienne charm of his works.
