Zoo Invasion: Salisbury (UK)
A week ago I was talking about Nick Hornby’s books with a friend, I’ve read some of his books ages ago, and my memory sucks so I all I remember is his habit of making “Top 5″. From time to time I say to myself that maybe I should have a try too, it will help to remember “things you want to do”, “books you really loved” and so on…it probably could work if just the idea to search a pen and a piece of paper to put down things I like won’t make me a lazy procrastinator. But a post is different and my keyboard is already in front of me so…
There are many places in the world I would love to see, you can’t surf the net without seeing pictures of amazing places scattered all around the planet Earth, making your wish list getting longer and longer. So I will only consider the places I mostly think while day-dreaming of opening the house door and walk out to spend some time on a public bench and simply relax watching the beauty of the world around you. I would love visiting:
1- JAPAN: my “dream-trip” I would love to have a picnic while sakura’s trees are blooming, or having a bath with snow monkeys at Yudanka, or getting lost in kimono’s silk shops in Kyoto.
2- ATACAMA DESERT in CHILE: to spend time laying down and watching the Milky Way with bare eyes.
3- UK COUNTRYSIDE: I want to sit down beside a window and having my English breakfast while watching outside and seeing the free squirrels and foxes and deers come and go from my garden…it happens to my Postcrossing friend Jenny and I want a bit of that paradise for me too!
4- FRANCE: I would love to see so many places in France: Languedoc, Provence, Picardie etc etc.
5- FAR OER ISLAND: possibly in one of the 4-5 days in the year while is not pouring.
…I haven’t seen any of these places yet, but at least my cards reached the English garden of Jenny
What’s going on?
Something is not working here.
I spend so much time trying to realize some pretty gadgets for Christmas and printers are driving me crazy not answering to my emails, is that a professional?
- A blue flower misteriously appeared on my brand new Japanese notebook covers…can a cherry blossom be blue?? No reply.
- On October 13th I asked for a quotation to print: mugs, cotton shoppers, and mousepads. They keep saying “tomorrow”.
-The puncher I had to buy in Germany because I need pretty small holes on my Christmas tags arrived and surprise! Holes got not the right diameter (3,2 mm.), but they make 6 mm. holes.
WHAT’S GOING ON???
Marvin we’ve got to find a way To bring some lovin’ here today…definetely!

2012 agenda book: type #1
Here we go! Yesterday I worked until late to place the order for these lovely 2012 agenda books.
They’re weekly, they’re written in English and got many extra “Contact” and “Notes” pages. Size is mm. 139×216 (inches 5.5×8.5). No illustrations inside (sorry) but you can choose among four differents covers:
- Venus (blue cover)
- Frida Kahlo (red cover)
- The Chat Noir (yellow cover)
- Japanese style
Prize is quite interesting, isn’t it?
Now it’s time work on the pocket agenda books, as the deadline to buy them is tomorrow. I’m in a hurry but the sweet Alice seems not to care while she’s sleeping and pouring on my lap.
Custom postcards sets now on sale
I’m always looking for new ideas to make my shops on Etsy and DaWanda work more and better…even artists need money-money-money, and I got nine little mouths to feed (and a couple of them, despite their small size, eat as huge bears getting ready to lethargy).
So here’s a brand new “Custom postcard set” in my shops, it will allow people to buy their ten favourite postcards just choosing them by the list of the illustrated postcards I have made so far.
It will be as a market: “please give me 3 Fridas, 2 Japan #3…” and so on.
The full list is available on Flikr
Will people like it? …coming shortly to this blog.
Bookmarks arrived in the Zoo-world!
Hi everybody,
it was a while that I was wondering to add bookmarks to the items in my shops on Etsy and DaWanda…here’s the first two!
To start I have restyled the Japanese illustrations, but I’m already working on the next BRAND NEW one, and many others will follow soon.
They are glossy finished on the front and white and writeable on the back, so you can write on it notes about the book you’re reading if you want.
