Zoo Invasion: Russia
My lovely Asia has to have another surgery next week, last Saturday I found a nodule on her, and vet says it should be removed.
She’s not lucky at all, she had last surgery just 5 months ago!
Anyway, this week she’ll be cuddle very much, we’ll pass this other surgery and then we’ll be back as wonderful as ever…and maybe she’ll have a new illustration to celebrate her strenght and patience, if I don’t go out of my mind!
This time I have received a picture from Russia, it was sent by the cute Maria and her mom Elena. Two brand new friends of the Zoo.
That “Fahrenheit 451″ feeling
It’s a grey Sunday morning again.
Pepe’s whining, Arturo’s caughing for his ashtma, Asia’s scared by the hair dryer noise, Alice’s sleeping, Tobia’s lost in his thoughts, so everything is as it usually is…except for parrots that are interestingly silent.
What about me? It’s a difficult question these days. I have finished a book I really loved “Kafka on the shore” by Haruki Murakami. Sometimes it happens to read the right book at the right time, and to find answers to questions floating in your head. I can’t say the book I am reading now is as much interesting and illuminating…so I’m guessing how wonderful it would be to be able to ALWAYS pick up just the “right” book at the bookstore…no more waste of time, no more that “so what?” feeling, no more sadness because a tree died for “…these books [that] have nothing to say”, no more that regrettable “Fahrenheit 451” impulse to phisically burn that awful book…”We must burn the books, Montag“!
So, inventors all over the world, please, can you do anything to solve my situation?
Another friend of the Zoo decided to take a picture for us, to show her appretiation and attention to our little hearts’ happiness. Thank you Ewa!
Zoo Invasion: Nova Scotia
It’s really hard to believe it’s spring, especially a Southern Italian spring, weather keeps to be cold and rainy. My pets are simply bored, it should be time to spend evenings in the sun or chasing flies and other flying insects, meanwhile all they can do right now is intimidate pigeons resting on the opposite building staying behind the closed window.
I would love to take my little troop and be able to scream “Beam me up, Scotty” and then rematerialize ourselves in Nova Scotia, to have a long walk around (if you google it you’ll see it looks amazing), and then knock to Han door to have a cup of tea together chatting about stuff. Considering all the Zoo postcards she shows I’m quite sure she wouldn’t mind ![]()
Thank you Han!
Zoo Invasion: Trieste (Italy)
Today I’m delighted to post a picture of a new friend of the Zoo, her name’s Luna and my little pets are very happy to see that also four-footed are enjoying our little project.
As it’s still rainy and cold all the Zoo-pets are sleeping in a warm places, so today all the work is up to Alice and me…actually we feel very very lazy too. Even parrots are not as noisy as they ordinary are.
We tried to find a virtual map to pin all the cities we receive a picture from, but we didn’t find any right for us. We used all our little English knowledge to try to focus the search: pushpin, pin map, custom map locations, geolocation etc…but no way to pick the right map. So now the new strategy is to pretend we totally quit the search and wait for the Fate to bring us into a blog page with the right widget to steal
Trying to refind the “will of doing something”, I’ll surrender to the shame of laziness. Sometimes new goals are much harder to find than to achieve.
Zoo invades South Carolina (USA)
I’m so happy today!!
Nothing is better after being sick (yuck!) than find an email with a picture attached for my section “Zoo Invasion”.
Zoo postcard is not easy to be recognized as it is the quite dark “Milky Way”, but Carol Beth you really made my day…Zoo loves you ♥♥
So, this is the right moment to propose you a deal:
1- Check my postcards gallery here on my blog or on Flickr
2- Chose your favourite one and then email me (nextlolaAThotmail.it) the name of the postcard you would like to receive and your home address
3- I will send you a copy of it by mail
4- In change, once you’ll receive it, you’ll email me a picture of you (your room, your dog, your ferret or whatelse) with my Zoo postcard inside
Then I’ll try to find one of those widgets where you can pin places on Earth, and then pin every city from where I’ll receive a picture. I hope to see the “invasion” grow fast.
If you don’t want to do it for me, please imagine the sad eyes of one of my lovely pets staring at you beggin’ for your pic
