Not just postcards

Today I’ve received another lovely surprise from my Postcrossing friends, a 2012 Jetoy calendar from China (thank you Benjamine!). Postcrossing is a website that allows people to send a postcard to an unknown person around the world and to receive one back from another random member of the project…sometimes you decide to keep in touch with some of those people and so you start to “direct swap” with them. Generally we send and receive postcards but so far I already received three amazing calendars that are now part of the Zoo-house interior design :)

Postcrossing is a lovely way to discover the world and meet new people and cultures, if you think you could be interested please learn more clicking the link below.

Daily mantra

Should start to wake up at morning and repeat to myself DAILY this Ashleigh Brilliant’s amazing quote

I may not be totally perfect
but parts of me are excellent

Lack of time

Who never felt this way???

There can’t be a crisis today…
my schedule is already too full!

It actually recalls an Henry Kissinger quote:

There can’t be a crisi next week, my schedule is already too full.

The awful truth…no ecception!

Let all the people in your neighborhood knows it…

Everybody is someone’s else weirdo

Le Chat Noir shopper bag

Here’s another shopper bag from the Zoo, I really love the quote:

Appreciate me now and avoid the rush
- Ashleigh Brilliant -

Pure genious!

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is coming, are you looking for a gift idea?

Ink spots

It’s a raining Friday evening, sky’s completely white, wind’s blowing and a seagull’s flying free above my head…it make me wonder of a perfect life.

Today a perfect life is strictly connected to a perfect bow window to sit on and read a good book, with Asia beside me and Alice on my lap, the notes of a Do Wop song are in the air and a cup of warm tea is waiting for me. I watch outside and see trees shaked by the breeze…the view of the rough sea of the Gulf isn’t too far away.

Actually the view from my window isn’t so exciting, the Gulf isn’t far away but not visible from here, I can’t drink tea for a while, the book I am reading is a thriller about a serial killer (not exactly Pride and Prejudice)…but Asia is sleeping beside me and Alice on my lap and thank Youtube The Ink Spots are singing for me.

At least ink spots are not just something an illustrator fears.

Ink Spots – If I Didn’t Care

Lollipop shopper bag

In this cold sunny day pets are all sleeping under a blanket or behind a stove, I would love to be inspired by them but at least one in this Zoo SHOULD work!

It took me an hour to find the words for a new listing on Etsy and DaWanda…yuck! And that’s a shame because my brand new shopper bags look pretty awesome. This is just the first of them, if you like it don’t miss my next posts, I will show you one by one, just to tease you :)
Tote shopper bag’s ideal for grocery, shopping, books, reuse & recycle…it would also be a beautiful, inspirational and useful “green” gift.
Quote is absolutely perfect…too busy in our frantic daily lives we forget too often how much this is true:

A day without a laughter
is a day wasted
-Charlie Chaplin-

Portraits

My friend Maura came back to Napoli once again last weekend and she did a new lovely portrait of one of the members of the Zoo, Alice.

Who will be the next one?

Welcome 2012!

Yes, I am definitely late, and I was definitely neglected in updating all my online stuff…but now holidays are gone and I’m slowly getting back to the daily routine.
Soon the website will look as the illustration above…same winter scene loaded on December but all those lovely twinkling lights are gone (sigh!).
There is a lot to do: update every kind of online site (website, Facebook, shops, etc), work on new projects, implement old projects, find new and committable printers…and above all to find time to DRAW new stuff!
Lot of work, but still 12 months to go :)
