Mousepad
Why it’s so difficult to find good gadgets makers…and for a reasonable price?? I was so happy when I received the box with the Zoo-illustrated mousepads I have ordered, unfortunately they don’t look as they should!
Colors are so pale and sad, sigh!
Here’s the only exception, of course I have ordered just two of this type and many of the bad looking ones!
Let’s help!
Finally the postcards made to help the animal shelter in L’Aquila are ready to be sold!
Some months ago a Dutch volunteer for www.dierenhulpzondergrenzen.com contact me to propose me a collaboration for one of their projects, the shelter in L’Aquila, where they help stray dogs and cats and also people who lost their home because of the earthquake in 2009.
The earthquake caused damage to between 3,000 and 11,000 buildings in the medieval city of L’Aquila. Several buildings also collapsed. 308 people were killed by the earthquake rated 5.8 on the Richter scale.
The Zoo members experienced that earthquake (as most part of the Center and Southern Italy), we were awoken at the middle of the night by the scary shaking of the Zoo-House, so we are very happy to had the chance to help those unfortunate people and pets.
All the money you will spend to buy Nextlola’s postcard on this website will be then used to help the L’Aquila animal shelter
Dierenhulp zonder Grenzen (Animalhelp without Borders) is also helping more projects in Spain, Greece and Portugal.
Vet day, sad day
Asia and Arturo are to the vet right now. Asia need a check up and the poor Arturo is suffering very much with his asthma, medicines are not working very much for him.
The other Zoo members are nervous, they don’t like to be separated…that’s why to make the aerosol to Arturo is not so easy… I always got at least 2 other pets trying to save him from my tortures
Animal’s shelter illustration #3
Finally the third illustration to help the animal shelter in L’Aquila is done! It made me sweat a lot but I’m happy of how it looks now. At the end I had the idea to make four illustrations, one for each season…I hope it would be clear for everyone that this one represents Autumn…and the idea of “taking care of someone else”.
It would be so nice if with some illustrations the Zoo could really help some pets not as lucky as us (I really feel myself as part of the Zoo!).
Unfortunately I don’t have any idea for the last one…I’d better think…
…
Zoo Sisters’ band
Hello everybody!
A long time is passed from my last post but the Zoo really had a busy week: new illustrations, new postcards, fridge magnets are in the air…
But luckily I have found the time to go to see a teather show, I enjoyed it so much that I couldn’t resist to make an illustration to celebrate that fun I had. The Marinetti Sisters are three vocalists “en travesti” who sing 30′s swing songs. I really love that retro style…and when I proposed to my Zoo to make our own en travesti band, the “Zoo Sisters”, they were enthusiastic! As always Pepe was the most excited. I am supposed to be already a lady, of course…but Tobia is a gifted soloist, no way to convince him to be part of a band!
This is my favourite song in the show, it was an Andrews’ Sisters song titled Bei mir bist do schoen.
