Animal shelter’s illustration #2

Here we are again! A new illustration to help the animal shelter in L’Aquila is ready, this time the main theme is the adoption of an abandoned pet… a little lovely fluffy pet who’ll fulfill the house with joy and love. It’s title is A new friend.

Animal shelter’s illustration #1

I finally found the time to start my collaboration with a Dutch animal shelter “Dierenhulp zonder Grenzen” (Animalhelp without Borders), that has a project with a shelter in L’Aquila, to help stray dogs and cats and also people who lost their home because of the earthquake in 2009. This is the first illustration I have made titled “Love is giving”…I’ve thought they should need: food, medicines, blankets and, why not, some toys.

It’s the first time that the Zoo hosts into its illustrations other animals, not already members of this little and messy club :)

Here the link of the shelter for Dutch speaking people:

Zoo invasion: Camilla’s drawing

This lovely drawing was sent to the Zoo from Camilla, an Italian baby of 5 years old. She put on paper her personal reinterpretation of one of the Zoo birthday’s postcards.

As Picasso said:

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

Today sountrack: Shigeru Umebayashi – Yumeji’s Theme

The perfect soundtrack for the last three postcards I have realized in Japanese style. So peaceful.
[a huge hug to my Japanese friends: Miwa, Masayo, Sonoyo and Ayaka...the Zoo is with you.]

New postcards set

Inspired by the beautiful new theme of my website “Spring in Japan” I have decided to transform it into a new postcards set. I just had to adjust the first two postcards with the two geishas (Asia and Lola) and with the little ninjas (Pepe and the parrots), and then make a brand new one with the missing Zoo pets (Alice, Arturo and Tobia). Soon it will be available on the Zoo online shops.

Error page 404

Yeah!! After a long and distressed work of search through the web (and with a little-huge help from SP), I finally loaded a costumised 404 error page to my blog (I still ignore how to load it on my website though), so if in the future you’ll fail to find the requested page this is what you’ll see.

Tribute to Giancarlo Gasponi

I have started to read a new interesting Italian book called “Nati in inverno” (Born in winter) written by Giancarlo Gasponi.

Until now I only knew him as a great photographer, I really love his pictures of Rome…and I love them so much that the Zoo decided to invade one of his beautiful images “Fragment of the statue of Constantine“…as we were uninvited, we brought a typical Neapolitan dessert, the babà, as gift.

With this image we inaugurated a new tribute section, so soon we will invade: movies, TV shows, paintings and more.

Meanwhile, for the ones of you who are able to read in Italian, here’s a direct link to the official Facebook page of the book: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nati-dinverno-di-Giancarlo-Gasponi/143088479074913

Brotherhood

Today is a cold day, so the brothers Alice and Arturo decided to sleep very close to stay warm. They look so cute.

Even Pepe is sleeping, here on the coach with Asia and me, instead of making troubles around…it’s unbelievable how the house could become quiet and silent just because Pepe is sleeping.

Zoo invasion of the World just started!

Hello World!!
The Zoo invasion just started from China, where the lovely Vera (in red) and Yan (in white) show the Zoo birthday postcards they received…and directly from the Zoo-base!
We’d really love to receive more pictures like this one, the email address is nextlola@hotmail.it …zoo-fans, please, don’t be shy :)

Zoo exercise book

Some of the Zoo exercise books we ordered are finally arrived, they look so nice!

All we can do now is to hope that someone will be so crazy to buy them :D
